POUGHKEEPSIE, NY—On Monday, September 8, Mark Crispin Miller, Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, will speak on the topic of his most recent book, Loser Take All: Election Fraud and the Subversion of Democracy, 2000-2008 (editor). An authority on election fraud, Miller recently testified at a Congressional hearing on its dangers. The lecture, free and open to the public, is presented by the American Culture Program at Vassar College, and will begin at 5:30 pm in the Villard Room, Main Building.

Mark Crispin Miller is the author of several books, including Fooled Again: The Real Case for Electoral Reform; Boxed In: The Culture of TV; The Bush Dyslexicon: Observations on a National Disorder; and Cruel and Unusual: Bush/Cheney’s New World Order.

Miller’s essays and articles have appeared in many journals, magazines and newspapers throughout the nation and the world, and he has given countless interviews worldwide.

The Program in American Culture at Vassar is designed to introduce students to the analysis of American society, institutions, mores, civilization and culture from a variety of intellectual disciplines and perspectives. The next lecture in the 2008-09 series is the program’s annual John Christie Memorial Lecture on Thursday, October 16, to be delivered this year by Catherine Lutz, Professor at the Watson Institute for International Studies and Department of Anthropology at Brown University.
