Kevin Klose, President of National Public Radio, to speak at FDR Library on “Broadcasting’s Impact on International Affairs”. Wednesday, April 11, 2007

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Kevin Klose, the President and CEO of National Public Radio (NPR) will speak on "Broadcasting's Impact on International Affairs" on Wednesday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Library, 4079 Albany Post Road (Route 9), Hyde Park, NY. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley.

[Left: Kevin Klose (photo by Cade Martin, 2000)] Mr. Klose, a former editor, and national and foreign correspondent with The Washington Post, has served as President of NPR since 1998. Prior to joining NPR, Klose was an editor and reporter for The Washington Post and President of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. He is the author of Russia and the Russians: Inside the Closed Society and several other books.

NPR is a private, non-profit membership organization which produces and acquires programming, operates the satellite system that interconnects the nation's public radio stations, and provides representation and membership services to the public radio community.

The World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley is a non-partisan forum for citizen participation in world affairs. The Council aims to help Hudson Valley residents make sense of our increasingly complex world through public lectures, panels and debates, and high school and college programs.
