POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding, ice skating, cross-country ski lessons, s'mores, arts and crafts, circus arts, and the Walker family band will highlight the second annual Arlington Winterfest, Saturday, February 25 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Vassar College. The event is free and open to the public.
Free parking will be available throughout the Arlington Winterfest at the Arthur S. May School on Raymond Avenue, including a free shuttle bus to and from the Vassar campus. Limited free on-campus parking will also be available. Directions to Vassar are available through the college website at www.vassar.edu/directions.
Wapiti Holler Farm will provide horse-drawn sleigh rides on the Vassar golf course, and free cross-country ski lessons (gear provided) will also be available at the course from the college Outing Club. Observatory Hill will be open for sledding and the scenic campus pond for skating (bring your own gear) and ice hockey demos, and Walker Field House will host dozens of food and craft vendors, rides, games and a non-stop entertainment stage.
In addition, a club that does fencing, ballroom dancing, and tai chi will be doing their thing in a corner of Walker. Audience participation as well!
The Arlington Mid-Winter Festival is co-sponsored by the Arlington Business Improvement District, Vassar Student Association, the Poughkeepsie Chamber of Commerce, and Vassar College.
