Colman McCarthy is a speaker whose fresh ideas, sense of social justice and sparkling wit have been stirring audiences for the past 25 years. He is a Washington journalist who has written for The Washington Post since 1968. He is also the founder and director of the Center for Teaching Peace, a nonprofit group that helps schools begin or broaden peace studies programs. Colman McCarthy has put his ideas on peacemaking and nonviolence into practice by going into schools and teaching his course, "Solutions to Violence."
