Vassar’s James W. Palmer III ‘90 Gallery features Kingston artist Bruce Bundock, November 18 through December 20

The James W. Palmer III '90 Gallery at Vassar College will exhibit plein-air and studio work paintings by contemporary, artist Bruce Bundock of Kingston beginning Monday, November 18, through Friday, December 18, in the College Center. The exhibition includes portraits, figures, still lives, and landscapes.

The gallery will host an opening reception for the exhibition from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20.

A draftsman and painter, Bundock paints in the contemporary realist style. He has also designed over 30 postage stamps for the federal governments of Gambia, Lesotho, the Maldive Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, and the British Virgin Islands.

The Dutchess County Department of History and the Muscarelle Museum of Art at the College of William and Mary display Bundock's work in their permanent collections. Regionally, his art has been exhibited at the Lorraine Kessler Gallery, Highland Cultural Center, and the Albany Institute of History and Art.

Bundock was granted an Award of Honor by the American Artists Professional League in 1989 and an Award of Distinction for Drawing by Brigham Young University in 1990. In 1999 he received a Scholarship from the National Endowment for Humanities Program in Historic Preservation Studies.

He received a BFA cum laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an AFA from Silvermine College of Art in Connecticut.
