Molly O'Neill, food connoisseur and author of the national bestseller "New York Cookbook," will give a lecture on Thursday, November 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the Blanche Brumback Spitzer Auditorium, Eleanor Butler Sanders Hall, Vassar College.
The lecture, sponsored by the Department of English, is free and open to the public.
Molly O'Neill is the food columnist for the New York Times Sunday Magazine and a reporter for the "Style' section of the New York Times. She is also a frequent contributor to many well-known magazines such as Boston Magazine and the Food and Wine Magazine.
O'Neill spent ten years studying culinary arts and working as a chef at both the University of Vienna in Austria and at La Verenne in Paris. She is the author of three cookbooks: the "New York Cookbook," "A Well-Seasoned Appetite," and "The Pleasure of Your Company." Winner of both the Julia Child/IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) and James Beard Cookbook awards, "New York Cookbook" has sold more than 200,000 copies since it was first published in 1992.
O'Neill is working on two books, a novel and a memoir. She will be talking about the transitions and transformations in her own life as a writer.
