Dance works by Paul D. Mosley at Vassar College, September 14

Vassar College lecturer and choreographer Paul D. Mosley will present "Turning in the Widening Gyre," a body of work inspired by the new millennium, on Friday, September 14, and Saturday, September 15, at 8 p.m. in Kenyon Studio Theater at Vassar.

Guest choreographers Richard Ayres and Sarah Carlson will each present a solo in the performances. Dancers Kristin Ogozaly, Megumi Ohnishi, Missy Pfohl Smith, and Lanileigh Ting, will join Mosley as well.

Among the works presented will be the title piece, "Turning in the Widening Gyre," a quartet to Shostokovich's 8th String Quartet, based loosely on imagery from Yeat's poem, "The Second Coming." "This dance takes its quartet of dancers through a harrowing study in contrasts and an exploration of the sublime in movement," Mosley states.
