Burton-Christie to address “The Wild and the Sacred” at Vassar College, February 7

Douglas Burton-Christie, associate professor of Christian spirituality at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, will speak on "The Wild and the Sacred" on Wednesday, February 7, at 5 p.m., in Spitzer Auditorium, Sanders Classroom Building, Vassar College. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Department of Religion and the Program in Environmental Studies as a segment of the Wood Lecture Series.

Burton-Christie is the author of "The Word in the Desert: Scripture and the Quest for Holiness in Early Christian Monasticism." His articles and essays on spirituality have appeared in several publications, including "Orion," "Cross Currents," and "Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment." He is the editor of "Spiritus: A Journal of Christian Spirituality."
