The Vassar College Jazz Ensemble will perform traditional and contemporary jazz arrangements on Friday, April 20, at 8 p.m., in Skinner Hall, Vassar College. The ensemble will perform works by Thad Jones, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy Gillespie, as well as an original arrangement by Vassar student Morgan Stoffregen (class of 2001). The concert, which is sponsored by the Department of Music, is free and open to the public
The program will also feature senior musicians Peter Holmes, Moe Kirkham, Jerome Sherman, Rollin Simmons, and Mark Wochner, along with Joe Mintz (class of 2002) and vocalist Jonathon Tuzo (class of 2002). The group is under the direction of James Osborn, a member of the Vassar College music faculty, band conductor, and freelance trumpeter.
