Summergroup artists to exhibit at Vassar College, October 1-18

Twenty-one Hudson Valley artists will exhibit their work at the James W. Palmer III '90 Gallery in the College Center at Vassar College. The exhibit opens on Monday, October 1, and runs through Thursday, October 18. There will be a gallery reception from 4:30 — 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 4.

In 1982, a group of artists met to explore the formation of a cooperative gallery and "summergroup" was born. Since its inception, summergroup has exhibited in galleries throughout the Hudson Valley Region and beyond. The Vassar show will include work by Mildred Cohen, Russel Etter, Susan Fowler-Gallagher, Jose Gomez, Ann Graff, Robert Hastings, Howard Knotts, Sherley LaDue, Ann Lawrance Morse, Mitzi Levin, Carol Loizides, Ellen Metzger O'Shea, Sherrill Meyers-Nilson, Carol Pepper-Cooper, Elisa Pritzker, Shanya Sawczuk, Nancy Scott, Elayne Seaman, Milton Teichman, and Marlene Wiedenbaum.

The James W. Palmer III '90 Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For information call (845) 437-5370.
