Listen, bring a score, or borrow music at the door and sing along at Vassar Colleges annual "Messiah Sing!" concert on Sunday, December 2, at 3 p.m. in the Skinner Recital Hall. On Sunday, December 9, at 7 p.m., enjoy a "Service of Lessons and Carols" in the college Chapel. Both events are free of charge and open to the public.
Both concerts are hosted by the Vassar College Department of Music. The "Messiah Sing!" will feature portions of Handels "Messiah" performed by the Vassar Messiah Orchestra, conducted by Charles Kamm. Student soloists from Vassar will sing recitatives and arias.
Kamm is visiting assistant professor and director of choral activities at Vassar College. He is also founder and director of the Boston based male vocal ensemble "Reredos." Kamm will also direct the Lessons and Carols Choir and college organist Merellyn Gallagher will play the Chapel organ.
