Two unlikely friends confront ghosts of memory and grief in “Under Cover of Darkness” at Vassar, July 7 - 9

Two friends embark on a journey from loss and loneliness to hope and healing in Cindy Lou Johnson's "Under Cover of Darkness." This Vassar/New York Stage and Film special presentation runs from July 7 through July 9 in the Susan Stein Shiva Theater at Vassar College.

"Under Cover of Darkness" will be directed by Michael Greif, director of the box office sensation "Rent."

In this play, a woman mourning the tragic and unexpected loss of her husband strikes up a friendship with a young man. As these two unlikely friends confront the ghosts of memory and grief, regret, and lost love, they embark on a healing journey in this tender new drama by the author of "Brilliant Traces" as well as numerous plays at the Manhattan Theater Club and Actors Theater of Louisville. "Brilliant Traces," which workshopped at New York Stage and Film, will open in Paris next year.

Emily Bergl stars as the widow. Bergl's stage work includes roles in "The Lion in Winter" and "Ah, Wilderness!" on Broadway.

Single ticket prices for special presentations are $12. Season tickets are also available. For more information call the box office at (845) 437-7235/5599.
