Author of “Inventing Difficulty” to read at Vassar College, November 2

Poet Jessica Greenbaum will read from her book titled "Inventing Difficulty" at Vassar College on Thursday, November 2, at 5 p.m. in the Rose Parlor, Main Building. This reading, sponsored by the Department of English, will be free and open to the public.

"Inventing Difficulty," a collection of poems and the writer's first book, won the1998 Gerard Cable Book Award. Greenbaum graduated from Barnard College and was a member of the first graduating class of the University of Houston's Creative Writing Program. She is the winner of a Discovery/The Nation prize and P.E.N.'s New Writer award. The write's poems, criticism and personal essays have appeared in The New Yorker, the Women's Review of Books, and Boulevard, among other publications.
